Introduction

Mounts would be better called transportation equipment because that's what they are primarily used for. However, as you progress in the game, mounts begin to have a wider variety of functions such as "kiting". A term used to describe when someone rides a Combat Available mount and does hit-and-run tactics on monsters, usually in dungeon instances. Other uses are simply for showing off, such as the wings obtainable from the cash shop also known as the Heaven's Repository.

Main Differences between Mounts

Mounts have certain differences in between each other such as, Speed which is the primary moving rate of the mounts, Surge Speed which is the equivalence to sprinting as it is limited to your vigor amount, Flying vs. Ground Only, Combat Availability, and attainability either through Questing, Trading, or most notably, Cash Shop.

Variations

There is a special note in the charts that refer to Variations. This is due to an item bought through the Mount NPC known as Nutritious Fungus for 50gold, which can be used only on mounts bought by the mount merchant in Pokari City.

Making Units Combat Available

For mounts that are combat unavailable, there is a special item in the Heaven's Repository that can be used to make such mounts Combat Available, meaning you can attack while riding. The item is called a Dragonhide Whip and can be purchased for 5 ebucks. Use in accordance with the Ancestral Forge ONLY on mounts that are NOT in the Heaven's Repository. In other words, the whip will not make your Angel Wings combat available.
